Happy New Year! I hope that you had a magnificent Christmas and hope that you have a wonderful upcoming year. This time of year, people are making promises to themselves in the form of New Year's Resolutions. These New Year's Resolutions come in many forms, including the ever popular resolution to gain or lose weight. However, the most popular type of resolution are the ones that last for less than a month. I watched a video recently that pointed out that those who make New Year's Resolutions to follow only after the January 1st are not taking their resolutions seriously. If they were taking the resolution seriously, they would just start right away. They wouldn't wait until the new year to start it. I have my goals to have completed by this time next year and I have already started working toward them. One of the most important goals for the next year is to understand why God put me where I am.
Romans 12:2 says "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing, and perfect will." God put me on this world for a purpose. He gave me unique talents and interests that I am supposed to diligently use according to his will. Each one of use has unique gifts and unique talents that are God given. How will you use them today and in the days to come? Will you use them in a manner that is pleasing to God?
